‘puddle of glow’
Vivid colours, illuminations and transitions create a universe hidden under the surface of Earth’s oceans. This glow is deep inside of us as well. It’s been repressed for centuries by various forms of social and political violence, by greed for power, by lack of understanding, empathy and will for communication.
In my sculptures, I’m using socially established ‘feminine’ elements, materials and colours and deconstruct them to built aesthetics of the true femininity based on balance, fluidity and mysterious intelligence similarly to the universe of the oceans.
My hope is that my ‘puddle of glow’ will inspire you folks to dig inside yourselves, find your own glimmers and built new beautiful universes.
The exhibition reflects strange spaces in abandoned houses, where the forgotten past meets the unknown future. Spaces in which the human world finally blends into the reality of multispecies life. Animals, plants, insects, and microbes all become one in the processes of decomposition and recomposition. The quiet gloom of an abandoned house tunes our senses into multisensory perception and changes our daily pace. This change in rhythm causes time to move from its tracks to an endless series of simultaneous events. Understanding time as a multi-level phenomenon has also marked the works in the exhibition, which have emerged from various wanderings in the world of endless possibilities, getting lost and making discoveries. In this process, a recurring loop generated by movement and sound became the integral form of the works. The loop is like a cycle of breathing. A sign of life, a ceaseless repetitive movement during which everything happens.
